Rupnagar, Punjab: The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) has invited applications for a Postdoctoral Research Position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The position is being offered under the mentorship of Dr. Sachin Kumar, Associate Professor and Principal Investigator, and will involve research in computational and experimental solid mechanics.

Eligibility and Research Expertise
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Material Science. Candidates who have already submitted their Ph.D. thesis are also eligible to apply.
The institute prefers candidates with a strong background in computational and experimental mechanics. Knowledge of finite element analysis, scientific programming and advanced experimental techniques will be considered an added advantage.
Fellowship and Tenure
The selected candidate will receive a consolidated fellowship of ₹60,000 per month. The appointment is contractual and may be extended for up to one year, subject to satisfactory performance. The position will be renewed every six months.
Selection Process
Applications will be screened by the institute, and shortlisted candidates will be called for an online interview. The selected candidate will be required to join immediately after receiving the offer letter, in accordance with IIT Ropar’s joining rules.
