RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel) has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens for engagement of an experienced Civil Engineer on a contractual basis in its Southern Region. The recruitment is for one Civil Engineer (Technical) post, with the initial contract period of two years, extendable on a yearly basis subject to project requirements and satisfactory performance.
RailTel is a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways. According to the notification dated August 7, 2026, the selected candidate will be engaged for work related to civil engineering activities associated with RailTel’s infrastructure and data centre projects.

The notification states that the number of posts is tentative and may change depending on project requirements. The location may also be changed according to project requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the Civil Engineer post must have a BE/BTech in Civil Engineering from a recognised university, autonomous institute or government-approved institution in India.
Applicants must also have at least one year of relevant experience in Central Government, State Government or Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), specifically in Data Centre maintenance, either in regular or outsourced roles.
A valid Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) certification as of the date of publication of the advertisement is listed as preferable.
Only experience acquired after obtaining the minimum prescribed qualification will be considered. Internships and training will not be counted as eligible work experience.
Age Limit
The prescribed age limit is:
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years
The cut-off date for eligibility is the last date of submission of application, August 28, 2026.
Job Responsibilities and Skills
The Civil Engineer will be expected to have knowledge and experience in areas including:
- Execution of OFC Huts associated with optical fibre network cables.
- Civil works related to Data Centre construction.
- Preparation of civil engineering drawings.
- Quality testing.
- Communication and documentation.
- Following established procedures and protocols.
Selection Process
The selection process will comprise an interview followed by a medical examination. Final empanelment will be subject to the candidate being declared medically fit by a medical authority designated by RailTel.
The tentative date of the interview will be notified after the closing date of applications.

- Matriculation certificate for age proof.
- Educational qualification certificates and mark sheets.
- Experience certificate or, where applicable, appointment letter along with first and latest pay slips.

- Government-issued photo ID and address proof.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) for candidates working with Government/PSUs or eligible government-funded organisations.
