NCRTC Recruitment 2026: Vacancies for Sr. Deputy General Manager and Assistant Manager – Transport Planner

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has invited applications for the recruitment of Transport Planner executives on a direct recruitment basis under Vacancy Notice No. 26/2026. The recruitment offers positions for experienced professionals in transport planning, with opportunities at the levels of Senior Deputy General Manager and Assistant Manager.

NCRTC is a joint venture of the Government of India and the participating governments of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The corporation is implementing the Namo Bharat Project in the National Capital Region.

Both positions are under direct recruitment and fall under the Executive/Technical medical category. The eligibility age is calculated as on 16 July 2026.

1. Sr. Deputy General Manager / Transport Planner

Essential Qualification

Candidates must hold a Master of Transport Planning or Transport Engineering along with a full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, B.Plan. or B.Arch.

Experience

Applicants must have:

At least 11 years of post-qualification experience at E2/L9 level or above in Transport Planning for candidates working in CPSEs, PSUs, Central Government or State Government organisations;

or

At least 13 years of post-qualification experience in Transport Planning for candidates from the private sector.

Job Responsibilities

The role involves preparation and evaluation of transport and mobility plans and traffic impact assessments for RRTS corridors and station areas. The selected professional will also be involved in:

  • Integrated multimodal transport planning covering rail, metro, buses, feeder services, NMT and last-mile connectivity.
  • Station access planning, parking, interchange facilities and traffic circulation.
  • Planning for rail-based public transport systems and multimodal transport studies.
  • Preparation of DPRs for Metro, High-Speed Rail and RRTS systems.
  • Comprehensive mobility planning and public transport demand forecasting.
  • Surveys, alignment studies, feeder-system planning and multimodal integration.

Pay/CTC Eligibility

For government and public-sector candidates, specified CDA/IDA pay-scale requirements apply. Private-sector applicants must have a minimum CTC of ₹17.70 lakh per annum, supported by Form 16, ITR or the last 12 months’ salary slips as prescribed in the notice.

2. Assistant Manager / Transport Planner

Essential Qualification

Candidates must have a Master of Transport Planning or Transport Engineering along with a full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, B.Plan. or B.Arch.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in Transport Planning is required.

Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities broadly cover:

  • Transport plans, mobility plans and traffic impact assessments for RRTS corridors and station areas.
  • Multimodal planning involving rail, metro, buses, feeder services, NMT and last-mile connectivity.
  • Coordination with engineering, operations and civil teams for station access, parking, interchange facilities and traffic circulation.
  • Planning for rail-based public transport systems.
  • DPR preparation for Metro, High-Speed Rail and RRTS projects.
  • Comprehensive mobility plans, public transport demand forecasting, surveys, alignment studies, feeder-system planning and multimodal integration.

Pay/CTC Eligibility

Private-sector candidates must have a minimum CTC of ₹11.10 lakh per annum, with verification through the documents specified by NCRTC. Applicable CDA and IDA pay-scale requirements are also prescribed for candidates from government and public-sector organisations.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation is applicable to eligible reserved categories as specified in the vacancy notice:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC-NCL: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years
  • Ex-servicemen/eligible commissioned officers: 5 years

Cumulative relaxation for more than one applicable category is also permitted as per the notice.

Selection Process

For the Sr. Deputy General Manager / Transport Planner post, eligible candidates will be called for an interview. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of interview performance, with 60% as the minimum qualifying percentage for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates.

For the Assistant Manager / Transport Planner post, the selection process consists of:

  • Written Test/CBT – 80% weightage
  • Interview – 20% weightage

Candidates will be shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5 based on merit. Document verification will take place before the interview, and candidates must produce their original certificates. The minimum qualifying percentage is 60% for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates.

Posting and Service Conditions

Selected candidates may be posted at any NCRTC office, workplace or project unit, including subsidiaries or joint ventures. They may also be assigned duties according to organisational requirements, including shift operations.

Selected candidates are required to execute a service bond of ₹5 lakh plus GST and training costs, if applicable, committing to serve NCRTC for a minimum period of three years.
