The ‘Architecture Method’ theme invites educators, students, and practitioners from diverse disciplines to explore how methods shape the ways we think, see, and make architecture. Unlike a fixed procedure, the theme positions method as a way of understanding and constructing the world—encouraging reflection on how methods influence architectural education, representation, and meaning.

Amidst today’s rapid technological transformation and shifting cultural paradigms, the theme identifies “method” itself as a site of inquiry. It views architecture as a dynamic system of relationships—material, spatial, social, ecological, and technological—constantly negotiating and transforming in response to changing contexts. Drawing from systems theory, it examines how these constituents interact, adapt, and evolve.

The ‘Architecture Method’ theme also opens conversations across disciplines, acknowledging that every field offers its own way of seeing and making. By inviting perspectives from dance, film, ecology, and the social sciences, it seeks to uncover diverse worldviews that can inform innovative forms of spatial reasoning and design thinking.

Electives developed under this theme will translate these explorations into hands-on engagements that challenge established frameworks, experiment with tools and media, and expand how architecture and allied disciplines understand and engage with the world.
