The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), under the aegis of the Confederation of Indian Industry, is set to organize a specialized Parallel Workshop on “Green Interiors” during the 3rd Edition of the Green Gujarat Summit 2026. The workshop is being conducted in association with the Indian Institute of Interior Designers Ahmedabad Regional Chapter (IIID Ahmedabad Regional Chapter).

Scheduled for 12 June 2026 at Hotel Le Méridien, the workshop will bring together architects, interior designers, developers, sustainability consultants, and industry professionals to discuss the growing importance of sustainable interior environments in achieving net-zero and climate-responsive buildings.
The session will focus on several emerging themes shaping the future of interior architecture and building performance. Key discussions will include energy-efficient lighting systems, smart interior technologies, indoor environmental quality, occupant wellness, circular economy strategies in interior fit-outs, and the latest advancements in sustainable material selection. Experts will also provide an overview of the IGBC Green Interiors Rating System and its role in promoting healthier and environmentally responsible indoor spaces.
As sustainability increasingly extends beyond building envelopes into interior environments, the workshop aims to highlight how thoughtful interior planning can significantly reduce energy consumption, improve occupant comfort, and contribute to long-term environmental goals. The event is expected to serve as a knowledge-sharing platform for professionals seeking innovative and future-ready design approaches.
