The DDA highlighted Narela’s growing educational ecosystem, supported by land allocations for seven universities, including the National Institute of Technology Delhi (NIT Delhi), Delhi Technological University (DTU), Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University (DPSRU), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), Delhi Teachers University (DeTU), and Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW).

According to the DDA, around 220 acres of land have been allotted to universities, while another 205 acres are available for future universities and colleges. The expansion is intended to strengthen Narela’s role as a centre for higher education, innovation and opportunity.

Connectivity is another key component of the planned transformation. Work has started on the Rithala–Narela–Kundli Metro Corridor, with four metro stations planned through the educational hub and five stations near DDA housing areas. The DDA also highlighted the proposed UER-II, a 100-metre-wide road corridor connecting Narela, which is expected to improve regional connectivity. The Indira Gandhi International Airport is projected to be around 45 minutes away from Narela via UER-II.

The area is also proposed to receive RRTS connectivity, with a station planned around 2 km from the Rithala–Kundli Metro Corridor, strengthening Delhi-Haryana regional mobility.

In addition to education and transport infrastructure, the plan includes a 75-acre multi-sports integrated stadium and sports complex in Narela. These developments are expected to support the creation of a more integrated urban centre combining education, mobility, sports and employment opportunities.

The DDA said the initiatives are aimed at strengthening Narela’s potential and contributing towards the vision of a future-ready Delhi under Master Plan Delhi 2047, in line with the broader vision of a “Viksit Delhi” and “Viksit Bharat.”
