New Delhi: Indian Railways has approved a new daily Mail train service between Kanpur Central and Anand Vihar (Terminal), providing an overnight rail connectivity option between Kanpur and Delhi-NCR. The service will operate as Train Nos. 14153/14154 Kanpur Central–Anand Vihar (T)–Kanpur Central Mail.
The new train is scheduled to depart from Kanpur Central at 8:40 PM and arrive at Anand Vihar (T) at 4:50 AM the following morning. In the return direction, Train No. 14154 will depart from Anand Vihar (T) at 11:25 PM and reach Kanpur Central at 7:25 AM. The service will cover a distance of 428 km in both directions, with a journey time of 8 hours 10 minutes from Kanpur to Anand Vihar and 8 hours on the return journey.
Eight Commercial Stoppages
The daily service will have commercial stoppages at Phaphund, Etawah, Tundla, Hathras, Aligarh, Khurja, Dadri and Ghaziabad. These stations will provide additional connectivity for passengers travelling between Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh and the Delhi-NCR region.
According to the Ministry of Railways, the new service will offer passengers an additional rail travel option between Kanpur and the National Capital Region, with overnight timings in both directions.
Strengthening Kanpur–Delhi Rail Connectivity
The introduction of the daily Mail service is expected to strengthen rail connectivity between Kanpur Central and Anand Vihar, while providing an overnight travel option and access to important stations along the corridor.
The service will facilitate passenger movement between Kanpur, Etawah, Aligarh, Ghaziabad and the Delhi region, supporting mobility along this important rail corridor.
