Chamoli :The renowned Valley of Flowers National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district, has officially opened to tourists for the 2026 season. The opening marks the beginning of one of India’s most anticipated eco-tourism experiences, attracting nature enthusiasts, trekkers, botanists, and photographers from across the country and abroad.

According to the Forest Department, the valley currently hosts more than 300 species of flowering plants, including several rare and endemic Himalayan varieties. Officials have urged visitors to support conservation efforts and follow environmental guidelines to help protect the fragile ecosystem and rich biodiversity of the region.
Forest Range Officer Chetna Kandpal stated that the Valley of Flowers will remain open to visitors until October 31, allowing tourists to witness the valley’s seasonal transformation into a vibrant landscape of blooming alpine flowers.
Situated at a high altitude in the Western Himalayas, the valley is known for its challenging terrain and changing weather conditions. Authorities have issued safety advisories and visitor guidelines to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all tourists.
The reopening is expected to provide a boost to Uttarakhand’s tourism sector while reinforcing the importance of sustainable travel practices in ecologically sensitive regions.
