The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), under the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is set to organize the IGBC Green Hospitality Summit 2026 on 29 May 2026 at Taj City Centre Newtown, Kolkata. The summit will bring together hospitality leaders, architects, developers, sustainability consultants, hotel operators, and green building professionals to discuss the future of sustainable hospitality infrastructure in India.

Scheduled from 10 AM onwards, the summit aims to promote environmentally responsible hospitality practices while encouraging the sector to move toward net-zero operations, resilient infrastructure, and enhanced guest experiences. The event will focus on reducing carbon emissions, optimizing building operations, improving energy efficiency, and integrating sustainable design strategies into hotels and hospitality developments.
The summit theme, “Driving Net Zero. Building Resilient. Elevating Experiences.”, highlights the growing need for the hospitality industry to adopt green technologies and climate-responsive solutions. Discussions during the event are expected to cover sustainable hotel planning, energy-efficient systems, water conservation, indoor environmental quality, waste management, renewable energy integration, and green certifications.
According to the organizers, the platform will also encourage stakeholders to collaborate on future-ready hospitality solutions that support India’s broader sustainability and climate goals. The event is expected to attract architects, interior designers, hotel chains, facility managers, engineers, policymakers, and students interested in sustainable development and green building practices.
The summit promotes four key objectives: creating sustainable stays, inspiring meaningful guest experiences, building long-term impact, and encouraging industry-wide participation in the green movement.
Participants can register for the summit through the QR code provided in the official event announcement or by visiting IGBC’s official website.
