The Government of the National Capital Territory (GNCTD) has granted administrative approval and expenditure sanction amounting to ₹1.04 crore for the demolition of old structures at the GB Pant campus of Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) in Okhla. The decision marks a significant step toward redevelopment and modernization of the institutional infrastructure.

Demolition of old buildings at GB Pant DSEU Okhla campus approved by Delhi Government

According to an official order issued by the Department of Training and Technical Education, the sanctioned amount of ₹1,04,45,366 includes contingencies and cess. The approval has been granted with the consent of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and authorized by the Director of Training and Technical Education.

The scope of work includes the demolition of multiple outdated reinforced cement concrete (RCC) structures within the campus. These comprise old polytechnic and engineering buildings, residential quarters, engineering workshop facilities, and other academic blocks. The site, previously functioning as the integrated campus of GB Pant Engineering College and Polytechnic, is now part of DSEU’s expanding infrastructure framework.

The Public Works Department (PWD) has been designated as the executing agency and is required to complete the demolition within the stipulated timeline outlined in the project estimate. The order also mandates strict monitoring mechanisms. Monthly financial and physical progress reports must be submitted to the Registrar of DSEU, and periodic reviews will be conducted by a university-level monitoring committee.

Additionally, the sanction outlines compliance requirements with CPWD manuals, financial regulations, and procurement norms. It emphasizes that no changes in project scope can be undertaken without prior approval from the competent authority. The expenditure will be accounted under the designated budget head for GB Pant Engineering College infrastructure for the financial year 2025–26.

This demolition initiative is expected to pave the way for new construction and upgraded facilities aligned with DSEU’s vision of skill-based education and modern campus development in the national capital.
