The Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI) has issued a formal Call for Papers for the upcoming 74th National Town and Country Planners Conference, scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad–Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from 6–8 February 2026. The annual conference brings together leading urban planners, academics, policymakers, architects, engineers, and students to deliberate on transformative ideas shaping India’s urban future.

This year’s theme, “Pro-Active Regional Planning & Development to Usher Viksit Bharat,” focuses on strengthening regional planning frameworks that align with India’s vision for developed and resilient cities.
Key Sub-Themes
The conference invites research papers and case studies related to the following focus areas:
- Regional Planning for Metro Cities to support balanced spatio-economic development
- Planning and Development Approaches for Rapid Transit Corridors
- Inclusive Infrastructure Planning for Global Events
- AI Applications for Sustainable Urban Planning and Management
A special Local Theme titled “Lessons from 100 Years of Town Planning Schemes” highlights Gujarat’s pioneering contributions to town planning practices and scheme-based urban development.
