COA to Conduct PGETA-2025 for Admission to Postgraduate Architecture Programmes

Top 100 Rankers to Receive Scholarships; Admissions to Follow 2022 PG Guidelines

New Delhi– The Council of Architecture (COA) has officially announced the schedule for the Postgraduate Entrance Test in Architecture (PGETA-2025), opening pathways for candidates aiming to pursue 2-year postgraduate programmes in architecture for the academic year 2025–2026.

The test will be held at the national level in three phases on May 4, May 25, and June 15, 2025. Registration begins from April 15, 2025, through the official website www.pgeta.in. These programmes will be offered by COA-approved institutions across India.

The entrance test and subsequent admissions are aligned with the “Minimum Standards of Architectural Education for Postgraduate Degree Programme” Guidelines, 2022. These landmark guidelines were introduced to standardize and elevate the quality of architectural education at the postgraduate level across the country. The 2022 Guidelines emphasize:

  • A research-integrated curriculum combining design, technology, theory, and management in architecture.
  • Enhanced focus on interdisciplinary learning, allowing integration with urban planning, environmental studies, heritage conservation, and digital technologies.
  • Minimum faculty and infrastructure requirements to ensure quality teaching and resource access.
  • Thesis-driven final semesters to encourage innovation, critical thinking, and original contributions to the field.
  • Emphasis on sustainability, inclusivity, and context-responsive design as core learning outcomes.
