The GRIHA Council has announced a Training Programme Series on GRIHA Rating Variants Training, aimed at enhancing professional knowledge of India’s green building rating systems. The programme is designed for architects, engineers, consultants, developers, government officials, students, and sustainability professionals seeking a deeper understanding of sustainable and low-carbon infrastructure development.
The initiative comes alongside the transition of the GRIHA Certified Professional (GRIHA CP) examination from a version-specific certification to a version-free credential framework, aligning with internationally accepted professional certification practices. Under the revised system, certification will recognize a professional’s overall competency in sustainable design principles rather than expertise limited to a specific GRIHA version.
Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge of various GRIHA rating variants, their applicability across different building typologies, technical assessment methodologies, documentation requirements, and practical sustainability implementation strategies. The sessions will also provide opportunities to interact directly with GRIHA Council experts and seek guidance on project-specific challenges.

Participants can register for individual sessions or opt for multiple training programmes, with discounts offered for multiple registrations. Student fees begin at ₹590 for a single training, while professional registration starts at ₹1,180. Discounts range from 5% to 20% for registrations covering three to six training programmes.
According to the GRIHA Council, professionals currently certified under GRIHA V2019 will automatically receive the revamped certification benefits, with further details on the updated structure to be announced soon.
