The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has welcomed the announcement of nine new Amrit Bharat Express trains, calling it a significant milestone in enhancing passenger comfort and strengthening rail connectivity across India. The announcement was made by the Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, through a social media post outlining the upcoming expansion of the modern passenger train network.

Responding to the announcement, the Prime Minister noted that the introduction of these trains goes beyond improving the travel experience. He emphasized that better rail connectivity plays a crucial role in boosting regional commerce, supporting tourism, and facilitating economic integration between states.
According to the Ministry of Railways, the new Amrit Bharat Express services will connect Assam with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. In addition, several routes will link West Bengal with Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, New Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. This expansion is expected to significantly enhance inter-state mobility across eastern, northern, southern, and western regions of the country.
Designed as a modern, non-air-conditioned long-distance train, the Amrit Bharat Express focuses on improved seating, enhanced safety features, and passenger-friendly amenities. The rollout of these new services aligns with Indian Railways’ broader objective of upgrading rail infrastructure while ensuring affordable and comfortable travel for a wide section of passengers.
