The Ministry of Rural Development has approved 25 road projects spanning 65.38 km in Tripura under the Road Connectivity component of PM-JANMAN, marking a major push toward inclusive development in the state. The projects involve an estimated investment of Rs. 68.67 crore and are aimed at improving access for 30 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) habitations.

According to the Ministry, the initiative is designed to ensure all-weather road connectivity, bridging longstanding gaps between remote tribal villages and larger urban centres. The improved infrastructure is expected to significantly enhance the socio-economic conditions of PVTG communities, enabling better access to healthcare, education, markets, and public services.
Beyond connectivity, the sanctioned projects are anticipated to boost local economies, generate employment, expand trade opportunities, and contribute to overall rural development. They also align with the Government of India’s larger vision of accelerating growth in the Northeast and advancing the goal of Viksit Bharat.
The Ministry emphasised that the PM-JANMAN projects will play a transformative role in supporting the long-term development and prosperity of tribal groups in the region, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth.
