The Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project has marked another significant milestone with the successful launch of the second 100-metre span of a steel bridge over National Highway 48 near Nadiad, Gujarat. This bridge, which connects Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai, is part of India’s first high-speed rail corridor.

The first 100-metre span of this bridge was launched in April 2025. Together, the two spans complete the ninth of 17 planned steel bridges in Gujarat. The structure, weighing 2,884 metric tonnes, measures 14.6 metres in height and 14.3 metres in width.
Built with approximately 114,172 Tor-Shear Type High Strength (TTHS) bolts, C5 system painting, and elastomeric bearings, the bridge was assembled on temporary trestles at a height of 14.9 metres. An advanced system, using semi-automatic jacks capable of lifting 250 tonnes and mac-alloy bars, was deployed to position the spans.
In total, the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor will feature 28 steel bridges—11 in Maharashtra and 17 in Gujarat.
