Among the winning practices are Blight Rayner Architecture, Foster + Partners, Schemata Architects and ZAV Architects. French studio Collectif Encore secured two awards for its transformation of a former industrial site in Oloron-Sainte-Marie, France, winning in both the mixed-use and sustainable renovation categories. Tehran-based ZAV Architects also received two public vote awards for separate projects.

Indian Architecture Recognised

India featured among the winners through Prestige University in Indore, designed by Sanjay Puri Architects, which was named Education Project of the Year 2026. The recognition places an Indian educational project among this year’s internationally selected architecture favourites.

Other notable winners include the Glasshouse Theatre in Brisbane, Australia, designed by Blight Rayner Architecture and Snøhetta, which won Cultural Project of the Year. Foster + Partners received the Infrastructure and Transport Project of the Year award for Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Schemata Architects won the Workplace Project of the Year (Small) category for the Uchida Shōten New Head Office in Fujisawa, Japan. Meanwhile, ZAV Architects won the Landscape and Urban Design Project of the Year award for Olive Leaf in Minoudasht, Iran.

The sustainability categories recognised the Rammed Earth House in Wiltshire, United Kingdom, by Tuckey Design Studio, and Collectif Encore’s La Friche d’Oloron-Sainte-Marie project. The awards highlight the diversity of approaches to building design, adaptive reuse and sustainable construction represented in the public vote.

Public Vote and Main Awards

The public vote, conducted from 28 September to 16 October 2026, was separate from the main Dezeen Awards judging process, in which entries are assessed by an international panel of industry professionals.

The overall winners of Dezeen Awards 2026 are scheduled to be announced at the awards ceremony on 16 November 2026 at the Royal Opera House in London. The ninth edition of the programme is held in partnership with Trimble.

The 19 architecture public vote results offer an overview of the projects and design approaches that resonated with readers worldwide, spanning residential architecture, workplaces, heritage, public infrastructure and environmentally conscious design.
