The Malviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), in collaboration with the Department of Architecture, JMI, is organising a One-Week Online Short-Term Programme on “Urbanisation & Sustainable Development in Global South” from 7 to 13 October 2026.
The multidisciplinary programme will examine key dimensions of urbanisation and sustainable development, with sessions focusing on sustainable urban planning and design, politics and economics of sustainable development, policy and governance, urban resilience and disaster mitigation, and case studies on sustainable habitat and infrastructure.
According to the programme announcement, the course is considered for CAS as per UGC regulations and carries no registration fee.
Eligibility
The programme is open to in-service teachers, post-doctoral research associates, scientists, project fellows in higher education, and participants from universities and colleges covered under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, including institutions that may not yet be covered under Section 12(B). Teachers of colleges not yet covered under Section 2(f), but affiliated with a university for at least five years, are also permitted to participate.
Registration and Important Dates
Interested participants are required to complete registration by 29 September 2026. The registration process involves creating an account on the MMTTC portal, selecting the Short-Term Programme, choosing Jamia Millia Islamia as the centre, selecting the programme dates (7–13 October 2026), and uploading a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or undertaking in PDF format of less than 1 MB.
Participants who are unable to submit the NOC during registration must submit it before the completion of the programme; otherwise, the certificate will not be issued.
Certificate Criteria
To receive the e-certificate, participants must attend all sessions and complete the required individual or group assignments. Tests or other exercises for evaluation purposes may also be mandatory as specified during the programme.
