IGBC Announces Student Chapter Excellence Awards 2026 to Recognise Campus-Led Sustainability Initiatives

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has announced the IGBC Student Chapter Excellence Awards 2026, a national-level recognition programme aimed at encouraging and celebrating sustainability-driven initiatives undertaken by student chapters across India. The awards are being instituted as part of IGBC’s 25-year milestone in advancing the green building movement, in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

  • Hold active membership with an authorised IGBC Student Chapter
  • Undertake social media-based outreach activities and tag official IGBC handles
  • Submit pre-event flyers displaying the IGBC logo prior to activities

These requirements aim to ensure consistent engagement, visibility, and alignment with IGBC’s sustainability objectives.

  • Monthly Reporting Deadline: 7th of every month
  • Final Evaluation: November 2026

Student chapters are expected to document and report their activities regularly, enabling structured assessment throughout the year.

The top-performing IGBC Student Chapter will be formally honoured at the IGBC Green Education Conclave 2026, providing national-level visibility and recognition for exemplary student-led sustainability initiatives.

IGBC encourages student chapters across architecture, planning, engineering, and allied disciplines to actively participate and use the platform to demonstrate innovation, leadership, and commitment towards sustainable development.
