18th GRIHA Summit 2026 to Explore Pathways for a Low-Carbon Future: Buildings to Infrastructure

The 18th GRIHA Summit 2026 is scheduled to take place on 3–4 November 2026 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, bringing together policymakers, architects, urban planners, industry leaders, researchers and sustainability experts to discuss strategies for decarbonising India’s built environment.

Organised by the GRIHA Council, the Summit will be held under the theme “Pathways for a Low Carbon Future: Buildings to Infrastructure.” Positioned as a pre-COP31 dialogue on India’s built environment, the event aims to explore actionable approaches to translating climate commitments into measurable outcomes across buildings, cities and infrastructure.

The two-day Summit will feature seven technical sessions, more than 50 speakers and panellists, over 15 exhibition booths and three plenary sessions. Discussions will focus on green transformation through policy and finance, energy transition, low-carbon building materials, water ecosystem restoration, inclusive urban spaces, waste management and resilient infrastructure.

The Summit’s three plenary sessions will address Green Transformation in Action: From Policy and Finance to Built Outcomes, The Energy Balance: Harmonizing Global Electrification, and Elastic Infrastructure: Architecture for the New Age.

Four thematic tracks will examine water ecosystem restoration in the technology era, low-carbon building envelopes, inclusive and accessible urban spaces, and India’s transition towards more sustainable waste management practices. An innovation session, Ideas to Innovation for Transforming Climate Action 2.0, will further explore approaches to advancing climate action.

The programme will bring together prominent speakers, including Shri Srinivas Katikithala, Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region; Dr. Vibha Dhawan, Director General of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and President of the GRIHA Council; and representatives from government, industry, research institutions and international organisations.

Exhibition and Green Building Tour

Alongside the conference sessions, the Summit will host the SPARSH 2.0 GRIHA Summit Exhibition on 3–4 November, showcasing sustainable materials, technologies, products and solutions for low-carbon buildings and infrastructure.

A Green Building Tour to the REC Limited Corporate Office in Gurugram, a five-star GRIHA-rated project, is also scheduled for 31 October 2026. The tour will offer participants an opportunity to explore sustainable design strategies, materials and solutions in a built environment setting.

Advancing India’s Sustainable Built Environment

As India addresses the challenges of urbanisation, infrastructure expansion, climate change and resource efficiency, the Summit provides a platform for dialogue between policymakers, professionals and industry stakeholders. Its discussions are intended to connect policy frameworks with practical implementation and encourage the adoption of sustainable approaches across the built environment.

Through its focus on low-carbon development, climate-responsive design and infrastructure resilience, the 18th GRIHA Summit 2026 will bring key questions about India’s sustainable development pathway into focus.
