Bharuch Bullet Train Station Nears Completion with Cotton-Weaving Inspired Design

Bharuch, Gujarat | The Bharuch Bullet Train Station, a key stop on India’s Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, is progressing steadily with major structural works completed. According to the Ministry of Railways, the station’s architectural façade draws inspiration from Gujarat’s traditional cotton weaving, blending regional cultural identity with modern transport infrastructure.

Located on Dahej Bypass Road in Bharuch, the station has been designed with a strong focus on passenger comfort and accessibility. It will feature modern amenities including a waiting lounge, nursery, restrooms, retail outlets, multiple lifts and escalators, ensuring barrier-free movement for senior citizens, differently abled passengers and families travelling with children. Dedicated parking facilities for cars, two-wheelers, auto-rickshaws and buses, along with a pedestrian plaza, have also been planned adjacent to the station building.

The station enjoys excellent regional connectivity. It is directly linked to State Highway-06 (Bharuch–Dahej Highway) and is situated only 4 km from the Mumbai–Delhi Expressway, while the existing Bharuch Railway Station lies approximately 7 km away, enabling seamless multimodal transport integration.

The station building has been developed across two levels:

  • Ground Level for passenger access and station facilities.
  • Platform Level featuring two side platforms for high-speed rail operations.

According to the latest construction update, rail laying, platform slab casting, structural steel erection and roof sheeting have been completed. Ongoing works now focus on architectural finishes, including the station façade and platform flooring, indicating that the project has entered its final stages before commissioning.

The Bharuch station forms part of the ambitious Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, which aims to introduce world-class high-speed rail services in India while showcasing local architectural heritage through station design.
