NIUA Invites NGOs, RWAs and Youth Groups for Delhi Urban River Management Plan

The National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), in collaboration with the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) and the Government of NCT of Delhi, has launched a public outreach initiative under the ‘My Yamuna, My City’ campaign to engage citizens and organizations in preparing Delhi Urban River Management Plan (URMP).

NIUA invites NGOs, RWAs and youth groups to participate in Delhi Urban River Management Plan for Yamuna conservation.

The initiative seeks participation from NGOs, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), youth groups, educational institutions, environmental advocates, and community leaders working on river conservation, environmental sustainability, awareness generation, and community engagement. Through this collaborative effort, stakeholders will have the opportunity to contribute their experiences and ideas towards shaping a shared vision for the future of the Yamuna River in Delhi.

According to NIUA, the Urban River Management Plan aims to create a more inclusive, resilient, and people-centric framework for river conservation and urban riverfront management. The campaign also encourages organizations to partner in activities such as clean-up drives, plantation campaigns, environmental awareness programs, and youth engagement initiatives.

The outreach highlights the importance of community participation in restoring the Yamuna as a source of ecological value, public connection, and civic pride. Interested organizations and groups can register their interest through the campaign’s online registration platform. The deadline for submitting expressions of interest is 22 June 2026.

The initiative aligns with broader efforts to improve river health, strengthen environmental stewardship, and promote sustainable urban development in the National Capital Region.
