The School of Planning and Architecture Bhopal (SPA Bhopal) has announced admissions for its PhD Programme in Architecture, Planning and allied disciplines. The programme is offered in both full-time and part-time modes, providing opportunities for researchers, professionals, and academicians interested in advanced research in the built environment.
According to the institute, candidates applying for the PhD programme must hold a Master’s degree (M.Tech / MA / M.Sc / M.Phil) in Architecture, Planning or allied fields with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) or an equivalent CGPA. Alternatively, applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (B.Arch / B.Plan / B.E / B.Tech) with 75% marks (70% for reserved categories) along with a minimum of 10 years of professional or research experience may also apply. The institute has clarified that diploma qualifications are not accepted for the programme.
Admission to the PhD programme will be based on performance in the PhD Entrance Examination and Interview conducted by SPA Bhopal, following the norms prescribed by the Government of India. The Departmental Research Committees (DRCs) will review candidate qualifications annually with the approval of the institute’s Senate.
Interested candidates must submit their online application through the official website of SPA Bhopal. The institute has specified that only online applications will be accepted, and applicants are not required to send a hard copy of the application form. The application fee, once submitted, is non-refundable.
SPA Bhopal has issued the PhD admission as a rolling advertisement, allowing applicants to apply throughout the year based on the admission cycle. The cut-off date for the January session is 30 November, while the deadline for the July session is 30 April.
