The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) conducted an inspection of road stretches maintained by the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) on January 13, 2026, as part of intensified enforcement under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). The inspection assessed on-ground implementation of road dust mitigation and maintenance measures across the city.

The exercise was carried out under Operation Clean Air, focusing on mechanical sweeping, road cleaning practices, and identification of dust-prone locations. Special attention was given to areas with visible road dust, accumulation of municipal solid waste (MSW), construction and demolition (C&D) waste, and related environmental concerns.
Nine inspection teams comprising officials from the Haryana State Pollution Control Board and the Central Pollution Control Board surveyed 127 road stretches across Faridabad. The teams submitted geo-tagged and time-stamped photographic evidence as part of a consolidated report to CAQM.
The findings showed 17 stretches with high dust levels and 25 with moderate dust, while 66 recorded low dust and 19 had no visible dust. High-dust locations were often linked to uncollected MSW and improper disposal of C&D waste near major corridors, junctions, and service roads. Isolated cases of open waste burning were also observed.
CAQM directed MCF to take immediate corrective action, including intensified mechanical sweeping, regular water sprinkling, scientific waste disposal, and strict enforcement against illegal dumping and open burning. The Commission also stressed stronger monitoring to ensure sustained dust suppression.
