
The School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Bhopal, in collaboration with the Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (ISAC), New Delhi, will host the CPTED Conference 2026 on 16 January 2026 (Friday). The national-level conference focuses on Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), a field that integrates spatial planning, architecture, psychology, and security to enhance safety in built environments.
This edition has garnered an exceptional nationwide response. Organizers report that the abstract submission phase attracted participation from 33 institutes and organizations, representing 22 cities across 13 states. The strong engagement reflects the growing academic and professional interest in CPTED, especially in the context of emerging urban development challenges.
An infographic showcasing the geographical distribution of participating institutions has also been released by the organizers, underscoring the diverse representation and reach of the event.
Participants were earlier informed that the last date for full-paper submission was 8 December 2026, following the acceptance of abstracts from across the country.
The CPTED Conference 2026 aims to advance discussions on environmental design strategies that strengthen safety and resilience within urban and architectural frameworks, while fostering collaboration across disciplines and regions.
