New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has sought technical assistance from IIT Delhi and Delhi Technological University (DTU) to investigate the sudden basement flooding at Triveni Apartments in Dwarka’s Sector 16B. The agency aims to identify the cause of the flooring damage and groundwater seepage that led to extensive flooding and damage in the residential complex.

According to DDA officials, one of the two premier engineering institutes will also supervise the renovation and restoration work once the cause is determined. The authority expects the expert teams to visit the site this week and submit a detailed report outlining the necessary repair measures.
The issue surfaced on Sunday when a large section of the basement floor collapsed, causing severe flooding in the parking area and damaging several vehicles. The affected complex, which houses over 340 flats across three towers and accommodates more than 200 families, has faced recurring water-related issues in the past few years.
Residents, however, expressed concerns about the recurring seepage and waterlogging issues, urging authorities to expedite long-term preventive measures.
