According to PMRDA officials, this approval marks a significant step towards transforming rural pockets around Pune into well-planned urban zones. The agency can now proceed with developing a 6.8-kilometre stretch of the proposed ring road — a crucial infrastructure corridor aimed at decongesting urban traffic and enhancing connectivity across the metropolitan region.

To sustain this momentum, PMRDA has also issued a public notice announcing 15 new TP schemes in villages such as Wagholi, Avhalwadi, Manjari Khurd (three schemes), Wadki, Maan, Dhamane, Godumbre, Darumbre/Salumbre (two schemes), Sangwade, Nere, and Bavdhan Budruk. Discussions with village-level stakeholders — including local representatives and farmers — will shape the future planning process.

This strategic expansion of town planning is expected to redefine urban growth in the Pune Metropolitan Region, addressing housing, mobility, and economic development needs in a sustainable and structured manner.
