New Delhi — In a major push to promote grassroots tourism and protect Delhi’s rich cultural legacy, the Delhi government has launched the Tourism and Heritage Fellowship Program 2025. Announced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the initiative aims to engage 40 young professionals each year with a monthly stipend of ₹50,000 for a one-year fellowship.

The program, managed by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), is designed to build a skilled workforce to support tourism and heritage conservation across the capital. It aligns with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, encouraging local talent to contribute to Delhi’s cultural development.
“This initiative allows youth to directly engage in preserving and promoting our city’s heritage,” said CM Gupta. “It is a strategic step toward strengthening Delhi’s tourism infrastructure through skilled youth participation.”
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be under 35 years of age
- Graduate degree with a minimum of 1 year experience in tourism or allied fields
- Preference for candidates with tourism-related postgraduate degrees
- Proficiency in Hindi and English
- Strong digital and content creation skills
Fellowship Activities: Tourism and Heritage Fellowship
Selected fellows will contribute to:
- Organizing heritage walks and guided tours
- Developing digital content for tourism marketing
- Event coordination at key sites like Dilli Haat and Garden of Five Senses
- Supporting film shoot permissions and MICE activities (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions)
The fellowship aims to serve as a bridge between governance and next-gen tourism professionals, empowering youth to become cultural ambassadors and innovators in heritage promotion.

Applications for the 2025 batch will open soon, with training scheduled later this year. Fellows will receive a certificate upon successful completion.
Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra, present at the launch, highlighted the government’s focus on innovative tourism initiatives and sustainable heritage management.
