Council of Architecture online capacity building programme on climate-responsive architecture, scheduled for 23 October 2026.

The programme will explore how climatic conditions influence building design, with a focus on building physics, thermal comfort, climate-responsive planning and passive design strategies. It will also examine design approaches suitable for India’s major climatic zones, highlighting the role of building orientation, building envelopes, daylighting and natural ventilation in improving building performance and occupant comfort.

Through climate-responsive case studies and best practices, the programme seeks to familiarise participants with strategies for designing buildings that respond effectively to their local environmental conditions. The initiative aims to promote climate-sensitive architectural solutions that can contribute to energy efficiency, environmental sustainability and improved indoor comfort.

The programme is open to architecture students, teaching faculty, practising architects and professionals from allied fields. Prof. Dr. Rashmi B. Tandon, Deputy Director, CoA-TRC, Delhi, is the convenor, while Ar. Shrutika Joshi, Assistant Director, CoA-TRC, Delhi, is the co-ordinator.
