In a significant boost to urban mobility in the National Capital Region, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the extension corridor of the Noida Metro Rail Project from Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Noida), spanning 11.56 kilometres with eight elevated stations.

With the operationalisation of this stretch, Noida and Greater Noida will have a combined active metro network of 61.62 kilometres, strengthening last-mile connectivity and enhancing multimodal integration. The new corridor will provide direct interchange connectivity at Botanical Garden with the Blue and Magenta Lines of the Delhi Metro, significantly improving regional accessibility.
The extension is strategically aligned to serve major commercial hubs such as Advant Business Park (Sector 142), Skymark One Mall (Sector 98), and Mall of Noida (Sector 93), alongside prominent IT and corporate campuses including Microsoft, TCS, Infosys, Adobe, Oracle and Cognizant. Educational institutions like Amity University and key healthcare facilities such as Max Super Specialty Hospital will also benefit from improved transit integration.
Beyond mobility, the project is expected to reduce road congestion, lower carbon emissions, and stimulate transit-oriented development. By improving access to employment centres and transport hubs, the corridor is positioned as a catalytic infrastructure intervention for sustainable urban growth in Noida and Greater Noida.
