Greater Noida is on the threshold of a transformative leap in the fields of media, infrastructure, and cultural economy, with the much-anticipated Noida International Film City project set to begin construction this June. According to senior officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), the foundation-laying ceremony is expected to be led by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath later this month. Spanning over 230 acres in Sector 21 along the Yamuna Expressway, the first phase of the Film City will involve an investment ranging from ₹900 crore to ₹1,510 crore. The development will feature cutting-edge filmmaking infrastructure, including 13–14 high-tech sound stages, an underwater studio, permanent outdoor sets, a film and television training institute, accommodation facilities for actors, a film museum, and a modern convention centre.
Consortium and Construction Firms
The project is being executed by Bayview Projects LLP, a consortium led by veteran Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor. He holds a 48% stake, while Bhutani Infrastructure (via Parmesh Construction Company Ltd) and Noida Cyberpark Pvt Ltd hold 26% each. The construction responsibilities fall under Parmesh Construction Company Ltd, a part of the Bhutani Group, ensuring both financial backing and on-ground execution are managed by experienced players. This consortium was awarded the contract in 2024 after winning the competitive bidding process by offering an 18% revenue share to YEIDA.
Design and Planning Oversight
While the architectural firm for the project has not been officially disclosed yet, planning and technical vetting are currently overseen by YEIDA’s Planning and Architecture Department. In earlier phases, external consultants were invited to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR). The final construction and layout plans are being reviewed to ensure compliance with environmental guidelines—particularly the 15% mandatory green cover—and urban infrastructure requirements such as landscaping, parking, and fire safety norms.
In May 2025, Boney Kapoor’s team submitted a revised layout plan for the first phase. YEIDA officials have sought additional clarity on zoning, sustainability features, and land-use before issuing the final No Objection Certificates (NOCs) that will clear the way for construction.
Broader Vision and Impact
This phase is part of a four-phase roadmap to create a 1,000-acre media and entertainment ecosystem over the next eight years. Future phases will include luxury hotels, business districts, retail spaces, and tourism infrastructure—positioning Noida as a global hub for cinematic and digital content creation.
Strategically located near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar and major transit corridors like the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor, the Film City offers significant advantages for logistics, access, and international collaboration.
Officials estimate that the project will create approximately five lakh direct and indirect jobs, spanning sectors such as film production, education, event management, hospitality, and creative services. It is also expected to significantly boost Uttar Pradesh’s presence in India’s growing creative economy.
Sustainable Urban Development
Sustainability remains a central theme, with the project emphasizing eco-friendly studios, low-emission architecture, and smart urban infrastructure. YEIDA has stressed that construction will only begin once all NOCs are secured, ensuring full compliance with both safety and environmental standards.
Once complete, the Noida International Film City will not only redefine the cinematic landscape of North India but also emerge as a symbol of modern, inclusive urban development rooted in creativity and innovation.
