According to initial reports, the fire is believed to have been caused by the ignition of firecrackers by children in the vicinity around 1:15 PM. The flames were first noticed at approximately 1:18 PM, prompting an immediate response from on-site officials.

Before the arrival of fire tenders, CPWD officials swiftly cut off the building’s power supply and IGL gas connection and facilitated the safe evacuation of residents as a precautionary measure. The fire was fully extinguished by 1:45 PM, thanks to the coordinated efforts of CPWD personnel and the Delhi Fire Service.

Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident. All fire-fighting systems in the building were functional and effectively used to contain the blaze before external fire tenders arrived.

It was also clarified that automatic sprinklers were not installed in the silt area, in compliance with the National Building Code (NBC) 2016, which does not require sprinklers in such spaces.

The quick and coordinated response helped prevent the fire from spreading and ensured the safety of residents and staff in the complex.
