The new facilities were inaugurated on Makar Sankranti at the Hari Nagar Assembly constituency by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The expansion aligns with the government’s stated objective of establishing 15 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in every Assembly constituency and achieving a citywide target of 1,100 centres.

During her visit, the Chief Minister inspected OPD rooms, laboratories, medicine distribution counters, vaccination units, and maternal and child healthcare facilities. She also reviewed patient registration systems and digital health records, directing officials to ensure transparency, accuracy, and ease of access for residents. Interactions were held with doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff to assess on-ground service delivery.

Highlighting broader healthcare initiatives, the Chief Minister noted that the Delhi government has also strengthened services through Jan Aushadhi Kendras, construction of new hospital blocks, installation of additional dialysis machines, and digitisation of government hospitals. Patients can now access OPD appointments and medical records via mobile phones, improving convenience and accountability.

Under the Ayushman Bharat framework, over six lakh residents in Delhi have been registered, with thousands of families receiving free medical treatment. The income eligibility threshold under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category has also been raised from ₹2.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh.

In parallel inaugurations, Social Welfare Minister Ravindra Singh Indraj opened two centres in Bawana, while Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra inaugurated a facility in Sonia Vihar. Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh and Education Minister Ashish Sood also inaugurated new centres in Bhimnagari and Janakpuri respectively, underscoring the government’s focus on decentralised and accessible healthcare delivery across Delhi.
