Delhi: The Central government has sanctioned ₹803 crore under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for 152 road projects across Delhi, providing a major boost to the city’s infrastructure.

The funds will be utilized by the Public Works Department (PWD) to strengthen and upgrade road networks across the capital. Currently, PWD manages about 1,400 km of roads, with a plan already underway to repair 600 km this year.
According to officials, the initiative focuses on safety, speed, and sustainability, aiming to create world-class infrastructure that meets the needs of millions of daily commuters. The projects also align with Delhi’s broader environmental and infrastructure goals.
Key Road Projects Approved
- West Delhi: Najafgarh–Dhansa Road (16 km), Outer Ring Road from Mangolpuri crossing to Keshavpuram drain (5.75 km), Najafgarh–Jharoda Road (7.2 km).
- South Delhi: Press Enclave Road (3.78 km), Old Mehrauli–Badarpur Road, August Kranti Marg (2 km), Hauz Khas Village Road, Nelson Mandela Marg (4 km), IIT flyover to Africa Avenue (1.8 km), Lala Lajpat Rai Marg (2 km).
- North & Northeast Delhi: Eastern Approach Road near ISBT Kashmere Gate (3.5 km), Shastri Park flyover (3.1 km), ITO Vikas Marg (3.14 km), Main Burari Road (7.1 km).
- Central & New Delhi: Strengthening of Guru Tegh Bahadur Road and Vishvidyala Road (3 km).
The Delhi government has linked these works with wider initiatives to reduce dust pollution, improve traffic flow, and enhance road quality across the city.
