The upcoming state-of-the-art facility will house advanced units for design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of modern trains such as Vande Bharat and metro coaches, as well as defence-related products. The project is set to play a significant role in strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities and supporting the Make in India initiative.

Officials highlighted that the hub will generate over 5,000 direct job opportunities for local youth, along with indirect employment through the supply chain. It will also give a substantial boost to the MSME sector in the region.

With the nearby Mandideep industrial area already home to 752 operational units exporting goods worth about ₹20,000 crore annually, the new rail manufacturing hub is expected to further accelerate industrial growth and enhance central India’s role in advanced manufacturing.

The development is being seen as a key milestone in enhancing India’s rail infrastructure capacity and promoting regional economic progress.
