Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Museum in Gandhinagar, marking a significant addition to India’s cultural and spiritual heritage landscape. Named after Emperor Samprati—the grandson of Ashoka and a key figure in the promotion of Jainism—the museum highlights the philosophy of non-violence and the historical spread of Jain traditions.

Located within the Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra, the museum is designed as a multi-sectional experience, featuring seven curated galleries that showcase the depth of Jain heritage. The collection includes over 2,000 artefacts such as ancient manuscripts, rare coins, stone and metal sculptures, and traditional relics preserved over centuries. Advanced display technologies, including audio-visual installations, have been integrated to enhance visitor engagement, while intricately carved religious symbols and imagery adorn the museum interiors.

During his visit, the Prime Minister closely examined the exhibits and received detailed insights into their historical and cultural significance. The inauguration aligns with broader efforts to promote heritage conservation and cultural tourism in Gujarat.

As part of his day-long visit to Gujarat, Modi is also scheduled to inaugurate a semiconductor plant in Sanand and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over ₹20,000 crore. The semiconductor facility, a key milestone under the India Semiconductor Mission, is expected to boost domestic manufacturing capacity, with a projected production of 63.3 lakh units per day in its full phase.

The inauguration of the Samrat Samprati Museum not only strengthens India’s cultural infrastructure but also underscores the government’s focus on integrating heritage with modern technological presentation.
