The UN-Habitat has announced the 3rd Regional Webinar for the African Region under its New Urban Agenda Learning Series, focusing on “Powering Local Action Through Participation and Partnership.” The regional sessions will be held on 28 January 2026 (English) and 29 January 2026 (French), bringing together policymakers, urban practitioners, planners, and development professionals from across the region.

Advancing Participatory Urban Governance
The webinar will explore how participatory governance and sound land-use practices can drive more equitable, transparent, and sustainable urban development. Through practical examples from African cities, the sessions will highlight how local governments are strengthening land governance systems, fostering cross-sector partnerships, and coordinating institutions to better manage urban growth and improve access to land and basic services.
