The Council of Architecture Training and Research Centre (COA-TRC), Pune, in collaboration with Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust’s S. B. Patil College of Architecture and Design, is set to host a five-day offline Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Parametric Design and 3D Concrete Printing in Architecture – Blending Tradition, Technology & Tectonics in Architectural Practice.” The program will be held from January 5 to 9, 2026, under the COA-TRC Teachers Training Program (TTP).

The FDP aims to equip architecture educators and professionals with cutting-edge knowledge in computational design and digital fabrication, empowering them to integrate parametric design thinking and 3D concrete printing into architectural education and practice.
Focus and Learning Outcomes
Participants will gain exposure to tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper, explore 3D concrete printing workflows, and learn to integrate computational and algorithmic design processes for developing responsive and sustainable forms. The program includes site visits, prototyping sessions, and live demonstrations to provide hands-on experience in material behavior, digital modeling, and fabrication technologies.
Program Highlights
- Day 1: Parametric Thinking – Tradition to Technology, Community-Oriented Design, and Patterns to Algorithms
- Day 2: Teaching Computational Design – Studio Strategies and Urban Morphologies
- Day 3: Material Meets Code – Structural Optimization, Smart Materials, and Workshop
- Day 4: Fabrication & Narrative – Site Visit to Fold Design Studio, Mumbai
- Day 5: 3D Concrete Printing – Digital Prototyping and Live Printing Demonstration
