Dehradun: The Department of Architecture and Planning, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, in collaboration with the Department of Architecture and Planning, IIT Roorkee, and the School of Architecture and Planning, DIT University, Dehradun, is set to host a five-day Short-Term Training Program (STTP) titled “Architectural Narratives of Uttarakhand” from November 3–7, 2025 across Dehradun, Roorkee, Mussoorie, and Bisoi.

This initiative follows the success of STTP 1.0 (2024) on the “Vernacular Traditional Houses of Gujarat” and now shifts focus to Uttarakhand. The program aims to explore the architectural, cultural, and environmental heritage of the state, highlighting its unique evolution shaped by terrain, traditions, and socio-cultural practices.
Program Highlights
- Day 1 (Nov 3, 2025): Inauguration at DIT University, Dehradun, followed by an architectural tour of Dehradun City and Forest Research Institute.
- Day 2 (Nov 4, 2025): Lectures and hands-on workshop with IIT Roorkee experts.
- Day 3 (Nov 5, 2025): Visit to Mussoorie and Landour focusing on architectural sites and guided heritage tour.
- Day 4 (Nov 6, 2025): Visit to remote villages in Bisoi, exploring rural architecture in the hills.
- Day 5 (Nov 7, 2025): Final architectural visit in Dehradun City and valedictory session.
