New Delhi: The New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) 2026, one of the largest and most significant literary events in the country, will be held from 10 to 18 January 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The fair is being organised by the National Book Trust, India under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, with ITPO as the co-organiser and venue partner.

Now in its 53rd year, NDWBF has established itself as a key platform for the global publishing industry, readers, authors, and cultural institutions. The 2026 edition will be spread across Halls 2 to 6 of Bharat Mandapam and will remain open daily from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
According to the organisers, India ranks as the third-largest publishing market in the world, and the fair offers a vital opportunity for business networking, rights exchange, co-publication discussions, and promotion of titles across languages. Publishers and exhibitors from over 50 countries are expected to participate, with more than 1,000 publishers, 3,000+ stalls, and 600+ events, drawing an estimated two million visitors during the nine-day fair.
Key attractions of NDWBF 2026 include a Theme Pavilion designed by the National Institute of Design (Ahmedabad), featuring curated installations, graphics, books, and artefacts linked to the fair’s central theme. The fair will also host a dedicated Children’s Pavilion, offering storytelling sessions, workshops, quizzes, and interactive programmes aimed at encouraging reading habits among young audiences.
For professionals in the publishing ecosystem, the fair will feature Authors’ Corners, the International Events Corner, the CEO Speaks B2B forum, and the New Delhi Rights Table, scheduled for 12–13 January 2026, facilitating structured rights exchange and translation agreements among publishers. Cultural performances and literary festivals from across India will further enrich the programme under the “Festival of Festivals” initiative.
Participation in NDWBF 2026 is open to Indian and international publishers, booksellers, distributors, self-publishing authors, educational content developers, and government institutions. Detailed guidelines regarding stall booking, registration, and participation norms are available on the official website of the National Book Trust.
With its blend of literature, culture, education, and industry dialogue, the New Delhi World Book Fair 2026 is expected to once again reaffirm its role as a central meeting point for India’s reading public and the global publishing community.
