The Council of Architecture (CoA), in collaboration with the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA), is set to organize a One-Day Online Capacity Building Program titled “Integrated Water & Sanitation: The Blueprint for Sustainable Architecture.” The program aims to strengthen professional knowledge and promote sustainable approaches to water management within the built environment.

Scheduled for 17 March 2026, the online session will run from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM and is open to academicians and practicing architects. The initiative focuses on addressing the growing need for integrated water and sanitation strategies in architectural practice, particularly in the context of sustainable urban development and climate-responsive infrastructure.
The session will highlight the importance of designing buildings and urban spaces that efficiently manage water resources, including supply systems, wastewater management, and sanitation infrastructure. Experts will discuss how architects can integrate plumbing and sanitation planning at the design stage to improve sustainability, reduce environmental impact, and enhance long-term building performance.
The program will be conducted under the patronage of Prof. Abhay Vinayak Purohit, President of the Council of Architecture, and Shri Gurmit Singh Arora, National President of the Indian Plumbing Association. Their leadership underscores the increasing collaboration between architectural institutions and technical organizations working in water management and plumbing systems.
Participants attending the program will benefit from expert lectures, technical discussions, and practical insights into integrated water infrastructure in buildings and urban developments. The program aims to equip professionals with updated knowledge on sustainable water management practices, which are becoming essential in contemporary architectural and planning projects.
According to the organisers, no registration fee is required for participation. Attendees will receive Google Meet access and submission forms after registration, and participation certificates will be issued upon successful completion of the program.
The event is being coordinated by Dr. Rashmi Tandon, Deputy Director of CoA-TRC (Delhi) as Convener, along with Ar. Shruti Raj Joshi as Assistant Director and Program Coordinator.
