The CAQM inspection drive in Greater Noida covered 35 locations under the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) to assess the effectiveness of mechanical road sweeping, water sprinkling, and other dust mitigation measures. The inspection teams, comprising officials from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB), documented violations using geo-tagged and time-stamped images.

Significant dust accumulation on sector roads and arterial corridors was observed across Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Eta, Sigma, Omicron, Zeta, Ecotech, Knowledge Park and Techzone, including on 60-metre, 80-metre and 130-metre wide roads connecting major junctions. CAQM noted that inadequate road sweeping, poor roadside housekeeping, movement of heavy vehicles, and irregular debris lifting were key contributors to road dust emissions.

Directing GNIDA and allied agencies to act immediately, CAQM stressed strict compliance with its statutory directions, GRAP measures, and Operation Clean Air guidelines. The Commission called for enhanced environmental enforcement, continuous performance monitoring, and accountability to ensure clean, dust-free urban roads across NCR.
