Union Public Service Commission Declares Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 Results

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the results of the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026, conducted on 8 February 2026.

According to the official notification, candidates who have qualified in the Preliminary Examination are now eligible to appear for the Engineering Services (Main) Examination, 2026, scheduled to be held on 21 June 2026 (Sunday).

The Commission clarified that the candidature of all qualified candidates is purely provisional, subject to verification of eligibility conditions at every stage of the examination process. Qualified candidates are advised to carefully review the Rules of the Engineering Services Examination, 2026 issued by the Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications, along with Examination Notice No. 02/2026 ENGG. dated 26 September 2025, available on the UPSC website.

Key Instructions for Candidates

  • E-Admit Cards: Will be available for download approximately one week before the Main Examination.
  • No Change of Centre/Discipline: Requests for change in examination centre or discipline for the Main Examination will not be entertained under any circumstances.
  • Marks & Cut-Off: Marks and cut-off marks of the Preliminary Examination will be uploaded on the UPSC website only after the final result is declared, following the Personality Test stage.
  • Mobile Phones Prohibited: Mobile phones are strictly banned inside the UPSC campus and examination halls.

UPSC has also informed candidates that they may contact the Facilitation Counter at its campus on working days between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM for any clarification regarding the examination or result.

The Engineering Services Examination (ESE) is one of India’s most competitive technical recruitment examinations, selecting engineers for key positions in central government departments such as telecommunications, railways, power, defence, and other infrastructure sectors.
