The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued a public notice inviting online applications for the Academic Year 2026–27 from institutions seeking approval under various categories of technical education across India.
Categories of Applications Invited
AICTE has opened applications for the following purposes:
- Setting up New Technical Institutions
Applications are invited for establishing new institutions offering programmes in:- Engineering and Technology
- Management
- Computer Applications
- Applied Arts and Crafts
- Design and Planning
- Hotel Management and Catering Technology
- Extension of Approval for Existing Institutions
Existing AICTE-approved institutions, Institutions Deemed to be Universities, and Central/State/Private Universities may apply for extension of approval for continuing their academic programmes. - Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Programmes
Applications are also invited for approval of ODL and Online Mode programmes in Management and Computer Applications for standalone institutions and Institutions Deemed to be Universities.
Application Process and Timeline
- The AICTE web portal is live from November 28, 2025, for submission of applications for AY 2026–27.
- All applications must be submitted online through the official AICTE portal.
- Applicants are advised to carefully study the AICTE Approval Process Handbook (APH) 2024–25 to 2026–27, including amendments issued from time to time.
