UN-Habitat to Present Global Housing Priorities at High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2026

New York | UN-Habitat will participate in the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development from 7–15 July 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, where global leaders will review progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a strong focus on SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities.

The High-Level Political Forum is the United Nations’ central platform for reviewing the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Governments, UN agencies, development organizations and experts will gather to assess global progress and discuss actions required to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs.

During the forum, UN-Habitat will present the latest data, evidence and policy recommendations aimed at improving access to adequate housing, land and basic urban services. The agency will also highlight strategies for creating more inclusive, resilient and sustainable cities while supporting countries in achieving SDG 11.

According to UN-Habitat, discussions at the forum will contribute to global policy dialogues on urbanization, housing affordability, climate resilience and sustainable urban development, helping Member States strengthen their commitments towards the 2030 Agenda.
