Connecting Hinjawadi IT Park to Shivajinagar, the metro line has successfully completed its final round of trials, including critical testing of signalling systems and safety mechanisms. These evaluations mark a major milestone, ensuring operational readiness and passenger safety before launch.

Authorities report that the project has achieved nearly 90% completion, with only finishing works and regulatory clearances remaining. In its first operational phase, 12 stations will be opened, significantly enhancing connectivity between Pune’s major employment hub and central urban areas.

Once operational, the corridor is expected to substantially reduce traffic congestion on key arterial routes, improve commute efficiency, and provide a reliable public transport alternative for thousands of daily users, particularly IT professionals.

The project is being seen as a crucial addition to the expanding metro network in Pune, aimed at addressing rising urban mobility challenges while supporting the city’s rapid growth and infrastructure demands.
