The School of Architecture, VIT Bhopal University, in association with Council of Architecture Training and Research Centre (COA‑TRC) Pune, is set to organise a five-day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Innovative Modular Architecture: Working Pods and Deployable Structures for Disaster Relief” from 5 to 9 January 2026.

The programme is designed to bridge academic research with practical, field-oriented applications in disaster-resilient and sustainable architectural design. With climate change intensifying the frequency and scale of natural disasters, the FDP aims to equip educators and professionals with contemporary tools and strategies for modular, low-cost, and rapidly deployable built solutions.
Programme Focus and Themes
The FDP will explore critical aspects of post-disaster architecture and infrastructure, including:
- Design and management of post-disaster shelters and modular settlements
- Prefabrication strategies and low-cost sustainable housing systems
- Improvement of safety and accessibility through HIRA tools and built environment audits
- Integration of advanced technologies such as AR-based inspections and smart modular design tools
- Strengthening regulatory understanding of disaster-resilient construction standards
