New Delhi: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has announced the introduction of a new category — National Energy Conservation Awards for Content Creators and Influencers — as part of the National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) 2025.

The initiative seeks to harness the reach and creativity of digital media to spread awareness about energy efficiency, conservation, and sustainable living, aligning with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment). By engaging influencers and creators, the program aims to encourage citizens to adopt energy-efficient practices in their daily lives.
Instituted in 1991, NECA has become one of the country’s most prestigious platforms for recognizing excellence in energy conservation across industries, establishments, buildings, and institutions. Over the years, it has inspired organizations to adopt best practices in energy efficiency, contributing significantly to India’s sustainable development goals.
With the new category, NECA opens its doors to the digital community for the first time, acknowledging the role of content creators in driving impactful narratives. Eligible participants — digital creators and influencers with at least 10,000 followers/subscribers on major social platforms — are invited to submit original short videos (up to 90 seconds) on themes such as:
- Saving energy at home
- Setting AC at 24°
- Choosing 5-Star appliances
- Energy-efficient lighting
- Green and sustainable building practices
- Celebrating festivals responsibly
Entries must be uploaded on participants’ social media accounts with the hashtag #NECA2025 and registered through the official NECA portal: www.neca.beeindia.gov.in.
Selected winners will be honored at the National Energy Conservation Awards Ceremony on 14th December 2025 in New Delhi, in the presence of the Hon’ble President of India.
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency, established in 2002 under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001, continues to drive India’s agenda of reducing energy intensity and promoting sustainable practices across sectors.
