New Delhi: The National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), India’s premier urban research and capacity-building institution under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, is inviting applications for two strategic positions aimed at strengthening national urban programmes—Program Coordinator/Team Lead for the Climate Projects Preparation Facility (CPPF) and Senior Technical Surveyor for the National Geospatial Knowledge-based Land Survey of Urban Habitations (NAKSHA).

CPPF Seeks Program Coordinator/Team Lead to Drive Climate-Conscious Urban Projects

The Climate Projects Preparation Facility (CPPF), hosted at NIUA, is emerging as a national support platform helping cities design bankable, climate-focused urban infrastructure projects. The facility assists states and urban local bodies in project conceptualization, financial structuring, transaction advisory, and PPP-based project development.

NIUA is currently accepting applications for a Program Coordinator/Team Lead – CPPF, a senior leadership role responsible for program strategy, partner coordination, project pipeline development, and end-to-end advisory support to cities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the CPPF Program Management Unit and ensuring timely, results-driven implementation
  • Supporting cities in developing climate-conscious project concepts and enhancing PPP viability
  • Steering bid management, consultant mobilization, and transaction advisory
  • Establishing monitoring and evaluation frameworks
  • Overseeing financial structuring, climate finance linkages, and compliance
  • Mentoring a high-performing technical team

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Urban Planning/Engineering/Urban Management or related fields, along with 15+ years of experience in urban, climate, or infrastructure projects, including senior program management experience.

NAKSHA Hiring Senior Technical Surveyor for High-Accuracy Urban Land Mapping Initiative

The NAKSHA programme, spearheaded by the Department of Land Resources (DoLR), aims to modernize urban land records through advanced geospatial surveying technologies across more than 150 cities. The initiative is designed to boost transparency, accuracy, and ease of urban governance by creating updated digital land parcels.

For this mission, NIUA is recruiting a Senior Technical Surveyor to lead high-precision surveying activities, technology deployment, and field-level coordination.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting and supervising advanced GNSS/GPS/Total Station-based land parcel surveys
  • Preparing survey manuals, training modules, and technical guidelines
  • Coordinating survey teams and overseeing data validation
  • Leading adoption of modern surveying technologies
  • Monitoring state-level PMU activities and ensuring compliance with national standards

Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying Technology, with minimum 10 years of experience in advanced land surveying and hands-on expertise in RTK GPS and total station operations.
