New Delhi: The Delhi Crafts Council, in collaboration with The Kunj, has launched “Raas” — a special exhibition showcasing recreated Chamba Rumals from museum collections. The exhibition is being held at The Kunj, located at 8, Nelson Mandela Marg, Pocket 4, Sector C, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, and will remain open to visitors from 8th to 28th October 2025, between 11 am and 8 pm.

The exhibition celebrates the intricate heritage of Chamba Rumals — a traditional hand-embroidered art form from Himachal Pradesh, known for its exquisite double-sided embroidery depicting mythological themes and scenes of divine love. Through Raas, the Delhi Crafts Council aims to revive appreciation for this delicate craft by presenting museum-quality recreations crafted by skilled artisans.
Visitors will get an opportunity to experience the finesse of needlework, storytelling through threads, and the cultural symbolism woven into each piece. The exhibition not only pays homage to the historical significance of Chamba Rumals but also underlines the importance of preserving India’s intangible craft heritage in a contemporary context.
Raas is part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to support traditional artisans and sustain handmade craftsmanship under the theme “Handmade in India, Crafted for the World.”
